Description
A rug pad is suggested with the Joash Area Rug Collection. Rug pads are important for a few different reasons:
- Helping to keep the rug in place. Most rug pads have a rubbery side that will help prevent your rug from sliding around. On Hardwood floors or other smooth surfaces, a rug pad could save you from a slipping accident. Better safe than sorry.
- Protecting the floor under the rug. Some rugs have a rough backing and can scratch a floor like hardwood floors. A rug pad can prevent this. Also, certain higher end rug pads are thicker and can prevent spills from getting to the floor below.
- Increasing the life of your rug. By providing padding under your rug this will allow more cushioning for the rug. This makes sure the rug alone is not taking all the weight of people and items on the area rug.
